Celebrity house swap: Avril Lavigne sells her Bel Air mansion to Clippers star Chris Paul for $8.5 million


 



Pop star Avril Lavigne has sold the marital home she shared with her ex-husband Deryck Whibley for a reported $8.5 million. 
The Canadian singer sold the sprawling Bel Air mansion to Chris Paul, who plays for the Los Angeles Clippers basketball team, according to TMZ.com. 
The 12,184 square-foot Bel Air property has eight bedroom and ten bathrooms.

The mansion which has 'gorgeous canyon views' was said to be constructed in 2003, and features a two-storey foyer, dual offices, a ten-car garage and a wine cellar.
The house may be familiar to some as it was featured on former Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker and his wife's reality show, Meet The Barkers.
Avril, 27, and Deryck, 31, purchased the property off the couple in 2006, the year that they married.

Situated on the prestigious gated enclave of Bel Air Crest, the spectacular Mediterranean Estate is listed as offering 'complete privacy, luxury, and comfort.'
The home features hardwood floors, Venetian plaster, wood-framed doors and windows that open to lush canyon views.
Living areas are all adorned with rich furnishings and touches such as red velvet curtains and black chandeliers.

The master bedroom in the house has been made into almost a mini-household, featuring a kitchenette, fireplace, patio, custom walk-in closets and dual baths.
The lower level basement has a wine cellar, tasting room, large gym with bath and sauna, a huge car garage, laundry and staff quarters.
A serene and picturesque setting, the private backyard features outdoor covered living room, pool, spa, kitchen and BBQ, and expansive lawns that flow to gorgeous canyon views beyond.
Avril and Deryck divorced in November 2010. The singer was dating Brody Jenner, Kim Kardashian's stepbrother. 
While the pair were said to have split they were spotted getting cosy over dinner at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills over the weekend, according to People.com. 
A source told the website: 'They had drinks on the patio and moved inside for dinner.
'They were kissing and cuddling and were very affectionate. They definitely didn't look broken-up.'
